White building officially opened

The new White and Seaton buildings were officially opened by HRH The Duke of Gloucester on Tuesday 9th Oct. 2012.

HRH The Duke of Gloucester officially opened two new buildings at Truro College; the White Building, an new centre for Art and Design, and the Seaton Building, a facility for automotive, construction and engineering.  The Duke received a tour of both buildings meeting staff and students from the motor vehicle workshops and 2 and 3 dimensional art and design.

The White Building has large teaching studio spaces, a central atrium reaching from the ground floor through to the top of the building, a social area with display spaces, and a large gallery.

This new building has allowed the rapidly expanding science and technology provision at the college to take up the accommodation in the existing Mylor Building. The Art and Design provision at the College transferred to the new facility ready for students who started in September.

Long exposure photography

One of the Extended Diploma second year students has been experimenting with long exposure night time photography to create images for her Graphics ‘Book Cover’ project.
