The 2014 NADFAS & the RBA awards

Ever wondered if the Art world has an X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent or Strictly? Well The Royal Society of British Artists  annual show at the Mall Galleries, London running from 5 – 15 March 2014 comes close!

Every year the RBA runs a competition to promote and showcase the very best of A Level student work happening nationally.

Yet again Truro College A Level Fine Art department are enjoying another year of phenomenal success as this year 4 of their students have been selected to exhibit their work at the prestigious Mall Galleries, London, alongside the annual Royal Society of British Artists Exhibition.  This is an exciting opportunity for Truro College students, Beth Uglow, Sarah Reeves, Sarah Richardson and Leo Goldsmith to have the experience of  exhibiting in a London gallery.

Student Beth Uglow said It is such an honour for me to be exhibiting my painting alongside professional artists, in a London Gallery that I have visited on Art Study trips to London. I’m really excited about seeing my work at the private view and hope the public will like my work.

The National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies made over 227 submissions of A Level work for consideration by a judging panel of RBA Members, only 27 pieces were selected, 4 of which were Truro College A Level Fine Art students, a huge achievement!

This Exhibition shows the best of contemporary representational painting, sculpture, printmaking and drawing. The shortlisted students will receive the title RBA Scholar and attend the prestigious private view at the Mall Galleries.

The selected pieces as well as other students work can be seen on the Truro College Fine Art Pinterest board – Wish I’d Done That.
