Art Club

Gwyl, Dolly and the Saturday Art Club have been busy with various projects over the past months.
The festive season saw the group designing and printing Christmas cards using lino cutting. Whilst their latest project has been recycling old plastic materials that will be turned into woven bags.
Looking forward to seeing their results in the near future.

Utopian Art Space

Sally Noall from the Tate St. Ives  and local, Cornwall based artist Naomi Frears spoke to AS level art students about utopian art spaces in preparation for the upcoming refit at the gallery. Students worked in teams to create collages which explored fantasy art spaces and idea for what they would like to see at the gallery. Most surreal suggestions were a gallery cat and bed for tired visitors to nap on. Other ideas that came from the session included work-themed rooms, practical studios for making responses to exhibits and interactive wall displays.

Everyone involved had a great time and look forward to working together again soon.
