We are pleased to announce that we have recently been awarded ‘Showcase Centre’ status for the Foundation Diploma course in Art, Design & Media by the ABC Awarding Body. This award is based on several criteria including, excellent achievement for students, good retention, high progression onto chosen university courses including, St. Martins, Chelsea, Wimbledon, Bath Spa, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Loughborough, Falmouth and many more.
Achieving this award means greater publicity for the course throughout the UK and further afield via the ABC website, with regular opportunities to promote good practice and student achievements. ABC also offer sponsorship awards to outstanding students on the course.
We look forward to encouraging students to be part of our course and to help continue it’s standards of excellence.

A selection of work by Foundation Diploma Art & Design students from their latest project. The brief was to explore a personal investigation of ‘Personal Space’ developing ideas and exploring these within all the areas of the course; Fine Art, Textural Surfaces, Visual Communication, Printmaking, and 3D.

Another week another show of top notch artwork from our band of students.
This week it`s the turn of our Foundation Art & Design department to show off their talent at their summer show.
The show runs from 9th-13th June, 10am – 4pm daily and can be found at the Tregye in Carnon Downs, just outside of Truro.

The digital revolution is forcing the most dramatic changes in art and design since the Renaissance. This interdisciplinary course combines practical and theoretical practice to develop your digital skills within traditional areas such as painting, sculpture, illustration, printed material, exhibitions, animation, concept art for games and film, web products, architectural and interior visualisation, 3D computer modelling, product, automotive and furniture styling, fashion, surface pattern and packaging design, set design for theatre, film and TV, installation art and future visualisation.
You will learn the skills, knowledge, aptitude and adaptability to move with confidence into a variety of creative industries. Links to these industries are encouraged as part of the Professional Practice module which also helps develop routes for career progression.
The course covers a broad art and design base including:
Starting by examining the fundamentals of art and design, you will develop the creative and observational skills required in the industry. From this solid foundation, you will develop your own projects within your chosen specialist areas and gain the opportunity to experiment with new rules, disciplines and, above all, ideas. The course works closely with a wide range of professionals so digital skills can be applied in many situations, enhancing employability as well as creativity.
